# Delete prompt content

> Send no body. Delete retained prompt/result content, customer metadata, document state, artifacts, and the claimed ephemeral upload. Persistent source templates are excluded. Status and accounting receipts remain. Repeated deletion succeeds; active or pinned content returns 409.

Deletes retained content, not the billing receipt. This is separate from cancelling active work. See [retention](/developer/docs/developer/docs/revise-api/files#retention).
