# Suggesting Mode

## Editing as Suggestions

Sometimes you want to propose edits rather than make them outright - whether you're reviewing someone else's draft or trying out a change you're not sure about. Suggesting Mode turns your own edits into tracked changes, the same green-and-red proposals the [AI agent](https://revise.io/help/ai-agent) makes.

### Turning It On

Toggle between Editing and Suggesting from the control in the toolbar. While Suggesting is on, everything you type, delete, or reformat is recorded as a suggestion instead of changing the document directly.

### Reviewing Suggestions

Suggestions are reviewed exactly like the agent's - accept or reject them individually, or use Review mode to step through them. See [Reviewing AI Changes](https://revise.io/help/ai-reviewing-changes) for the full set of controls.

Tip: Suggesting Mode is great for collaboration: a collaborator can propose changes and the document owner can decide what to keep.
