Introduction
A word processor component for React applications.
The Revise Editor SDK is a React component that embeds a DOCX-compatible word processor in your web application. Your application keeps its own shell, authentication, storage, and users.

Let's use the Revise SDK! https://revise.io/skills/sdk.mdWhat you get#
- Word in, Word out. Open
.docx,.odt,.rtf, Markdown, plain text, or HTML, and export.docxwith comments and tracked changes intact. - Real pages. Canvas rendering with pagination, and the built-in ribbon or your own toolbar.
- Collaboration. Every document is a Yjs CRDT. Pass a provider for live carets and presence.
- Agent tools. JSON-schema tools your model calls to read and edit the document, as tracked changes.
- A server side.
revise/serverruns the same engine and tools in Node, on the same documents.
What you bring#
Accounts, storage, a sync server for collaboration, and your AI model. The SDK is a component, not a platform: nothing leaves the browser unless you connect it.
Free for evaluation, personal projects, and education. Production use by organizations needs a license.
Live demos#
Small apps built on the SDK, running on GitHub Pages:
- DOCX round trip:
open a
.docx, edit it, and download.docxor PDF. - Custom toolbar: no ribbon, just your own toolbar, colors, and fonts around the page.
- AI redline: Claude edits the document as tracked changes you review. Bring an Anthropic API key.
- Review portal: editor, suggester, and viewer roles with comments.
The source for these, plus a multiplayer server and a Node redline, is in reviseio/examples.
