PDF import keeps the page layout
We rebuilt PDF import. Revise used to pull out the text and structure. Now the document you get looks like the PDF you started with, and you can edit it.
- Page size and margins
- Fonts, font sizes, line spacing, indents, and alignment
- Headers and footers, with page numbers that update as you edit
- Tables with their column widths and ruled lines, such as court captions, signature blocks, and form grids
- Pleading paper: numbered lines down the left margin and the vertical margin rules
- Two-column passages
When the page setup changes partway through, as when a form is followed by an attachment with different margins, each part gets its own section, so every page keeps its own layout.
This works for scans as well as PDFs saved from a word processor, and the document still streams into the editor page by page while the import runs. The same improvements apply to the PDF to Word converter and the API's file conversions, so a .docx exported from an imported PDF keeps its layout in Word too.
