Check a Document for AI-Generated Writing
Pangram score runs your document through Pangram, an AI-writing detector, and reports how much of the text reads as human, AI-assisted, or AI-generated. It is available on the Pro and Max plans.
Running a Score
- Open the Review tab in the editor ribbon and click Pangram score.
- Revise shows how many words will be scored and what the run will cost before anything is sent.
- Click Run Pangram. The result opens in a few seconds.
The score is saved with the document, so everyone you share it with can open the same result from the Last score button. A dot on that button means the text has changed since it was scored.
Reading the Result
- Verdict - Human, Mixed, or AI, with Pangram's one-line summary.
- Breakdown bar - the share of the text classified as human, AI-assisted, and AI.
- Segments - each passage Pangram examined, with its AI-assistance score and confidence.
Cost and Limits
- Each run uses $0.05 per 100 words of your monthly AI allowance, the same allowance the AI agent draws from. A 600-word essay costs $0.30; a 2,000-word document costs $1.00.
- Documents must be between 50 and 2,000 words. Pangram is unreliable on very short text, and longer documents are not yet supported.
- If you are past your allowance and have Extra Usage turned on, the run is charged there at the usual 25% premium.
- The text scored follows the suggestion view: with tracked changes pending, the final (as-if-accepted) text is sent.
